Competition Rules

  • Top Model South Africa will appoint a model as winner for South Africa.
  • ONLY South African citizens are allowed to enter Top Model South Africa.
  • Top Model South Africa is only responsible for the airfare ticket for the female winner. She will be responsible for all other travel expenses and accommodation.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • The judges will select one female and one male winner for Top Model South Africa as well as runner-ups for each. They will also select one Beautiful Fresh Face winner as well as a runner-up.
  • If the winner(s) conduct themselves in a manner not befitting the title they will be disqualified and one of the runner-ups will be selected. If disqualified the female winner will not compete in London if Top Model South Africa so decides. If the winner is disqualified or chooses to relinquish the title, all prizes, awards, and cash value shall be returned in full, to be given to the next choice of the judges.
  • The winner(s) will be available to their sponsors for appearances for free.
  • The winner(s) will also be promoted through Top Model South Africa and will sign a 12 month contract.
  • The winner(s) and runner-ups are not allowed to change their appearance until the competition in London has finished.
  • Top Model South Africa may use images of the winner(s) and runner-ups at all times.
  • Top Model Worldwide and Top Model South Africa are not responsible for any injuries or expenses of the winner(s).
  • Prizes are not refundable for cash.
  • Entry Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • The female winner of Top Model South Africa is obligated to take part in London, in the Top Model Worldwide Search.
  • All official interviews are mandatory.
  • The female winner will come into recognition for castings for the London Fashion Week.
  • This competition is open to female contestants between the ages of 16 – 24 as at 2018.
  • This competition is open to male contestants between the ages of 18 – 28 as at 2018.
  • Top Model South Africa Girl’s length 1.73cm and taller. NOT bigger than a size 32-34.
  • Top Model South Africa Men’s length 1.83cm and taller.
  • Beautiful Fresh Face category, Commercial Side / Character Side, for shorter Girls. Girl’s length 1.67 to 1.72cm. NOT bigger than sizes 32-34.
  • Both Top Model South Africa winners as well as the Beautiful Fresh Face winner could be signed by agencies.
  • Entrants may NOT be married, or have been divorced before, and are not allowed to have children.
  • Must not be pregnant and have never given birth.
  • Must have a valid passport /SA ID or Birth certificate.
  • Contestants, parents and chair persons are expected to behave in a sportsmanlike manner and any interference, whatever the nature, shall not be tolerated and could lead to the disqualification of the contestant.
  • Immediate family of the organising committee may not enter this competition.
  • Contestants agree that they do not have the right to make any press releases whatsoever, without the consent of the organisers.
  • Male winner: If you are the winner we will decide if you could compete in London and you have to sponsor yourself. You are welcome to find a sponsor. The male winner must at all times represent himself and Top Model South Africa in a professional manner, or will be stripped of his title.
  • Judging criteria is as per international standards.
  • All semi-finalists will be required to sell tickets to the model party. This party is to be held on 23 Sep 2017 in Pretoria.
  • All finalists will be required to do fundraising and sell tickets to the annual grand finale happening on 17 Feb 2018 at Carnival City.
  • Top Model South Africa, or the suppliers, may make changes to the above mentioned rules, described herein at any time, without prior notice.
